HOMEWORK POLICY FOR 2011-12
All children will be given homework each school day, Homework is to consolidate the day’s learning and prepare the child for the following day.
Sometimes an activity may be required which will enhance the child’s understanding of a unit’s work and promote conversation on the topic between parent and child.
Homework is to be done by the children themselves, although parents may need to assist or encourage at times.
The following guidelines are to be followed regarding the quantity of homework given daily:
Exams
Playgroup Nil
LKG: 1 subject
UKG: 1 subject Saturday - 2 subjects
I Class: 2 subjects Saturday – 4 subjects
II Class: 2 subjects Saturday – 4 subjects
III Class: 3 subjects
IV Class: 3 subjects
V Class: 3 subjects
VI Class: 4 subjects
VII Class: 4 subjects
VIII Class: 4 subjects
IX/X Classes: 4 subjects
All Class Teachers are responsible for ensuring that the children are not given homework that exceeds this. The only exception is during preparation for tests. At this time subject revision is to be timetabled to ensure coverage of all topics.
