Conservation of natural resources and proper utilization of natural resources is the need of the hour. Conservation encompasses the quantity and quality of natural resources such as air, water, land, forest, animal and minerals. Human beings including other living-beings use natural resources, which cannot be stopped. Absolute conservation is the concept that natural resources are maintained without any disturbance in the condition in which they exist in nature.

VI class students conducted a fantastic group discussion on 'Conservation of Natural Resources on 11 September 2019. They participated in four extensive discussions and skits on the subject. Groups of 25 students participated in each discussion and others performed message oriented skits. T. Naisha, D. Nitya Shree, D. Geethika, J.M. Archana and M. Srinidhi were the Masters of Ceremony and organised the programme competently.

M. Zahnavi, D. Advaitha, G. Deepthi and G. Hasritha moderated their groups efficiently in the discussions. They discussed about various exhaustible and inexhaustible natural resources available on earth. They emphasized that the presence of natural resources is essential for maintaining the environmental balance. No human created the natural resources. We tap into their supply to survive and also to function properly. However, we do not think twice before utilizing them. We are over exploiting the natural resources and they are getting depleted at a rapid speed.

We must understand the importance of natural resources and the need to conserve them for future generations. We must particularly be cautious while using the non-renewable resources as well as the renewable resources that take time to replenish. They also suggested very important measures to conserve the natural resources. The group discussions and the skits reminded the audience that these natural resources are our basic requirements for our survival. If we do not take serious measures to conserve them, then it will become impossible for us to continue to live on Earth. Parents attended the programme in large numbers. They spoke at the end of the programme and appreciated the wonderful performance of the students. The Honorary Correspondent,Major Suresh Babu and the Principal, Mr. M. Mahesh thanked the parents for their excellent support. They congratulated all the VI class students on their excellent performance and lauded the sincere efforts of the Science Department.
