Fresh Blossoms in the Sai Garden 2006
Dear Reader
With Sai Baba's all-embracing blessings and our founder, Sri Babuji's, unfathomable grace, we welcome you all to the 2006 issue of Fresh Blossoms in the Sai Garden. Last issue we introduced our readers to our new School premises, to our new pledge, to new resources and to a new logo with the motto "Love of Learning and Learning to Love". The 2006 issue is about last year's endeavours coming to fruition and about the on-going evolution of the School's vision. In education there is never a time for complacency.
The Editorial Team welcomes the Magazine Students' Committee who joined with us to produce this issue. Their involvement has added breadth to our Magazine, with new ideas coming from their direct contact with other students.
Our School's vision and mission has been updated to reflect new levels of educational goals in which a relevant curriculum, a spirit of inquiry and love of learning are a constant motivation in the School. The Principal's report gives a summary of the highlights of the school year 2005-06.
In Calendar of Events we learn how the students have been busy, involved not only with academic pursuits and celebrations of memorable dates, but also participating in competitions at the School and outside. 2005-06 has been a period of achievements for our students and the Magazine has tried to convey both the final outcome and how their achievements were pursued.
In 'What's New in SCS?' we see how the School is responding to the students' learning needs by physically expanding the classrooms and implementing resources to maximise learning. The articles on the new House names shows how they have been a source of inspiration for the captains and we hope this will be passed on to every single student.
The Science Exhibition marked a great leap for our students. They have shown perseverence, dedication and excellent communication skills and the result was astounding. There are not enough pages in this issue to report the significance of those two days, but we did find space for a poem that captures the spirit of the Exhibition.
The 2006 issue's articles cover a wide range of topics. From inspiring personalities to self-reflection, from creative writing in the form of stories and poems to a report on the Computer Lab, we have sought to encapsulate the School's life in its many dimensions.
Our budding artists have created the Magazine's illustrations with ingenuity and great splashes of colour.
Our students' achievements were second to none at the National Children's Science Congress, as they were selected for the highest level in the competition. Our team leaders report personally on the events they participated in.
In all we have had a very busy year, full of accomplishment in SCS. Something that can only be the result of grace, the grace of Sri Sai Baba and Sri Babuji. We wish all readers a year of fulfilment and happiness.
